Aberdeen, South Dakota

Aberdeen once had several railroads, including a Milwaukee Road mainline between Minneapolis and the Pacific Coast, a Milwaukee Road branch line from North Dakota to Mitchell, a Minneapolis & St. Louis line from Watertown to Leola, a Great Northern line from Rutland to Aberdeen and a Chicago & North Western line between Huron and Oakes, ND.
Today, the Milwaukee Road mainline is a BNSF mainline, the branch line is BNSF south of Aberdeen and abandoned north of town, the M&StL and C&NW lines are both abandoned and the Great Northern is now a BNSF branch line.
